Abstract: Information technology (IT) defines the manner in which organisations and businesses operate and compete. The role of the modern manager is to both manage IT and to harness its immense potential for innovation and growth. The purpose of this book is to understand the decisions managers have to make with regard to IT and innovating with IT. This book explains key technologies that constitute the modern IT landscape and also explores the manner in which IT shapes the world around us. The discussions, examples and cases are drawn largely from the Indian context, though their relevance and scope is universal.
